I know it is heavily implied (okay, not really implied, Quorra literally said it would happen) in Tron: Legacy that Flynn and Clu both died when they reintegrated but I read one fic where they survived but shared a body afterward and I need more of that!
I need them to be stuck together for the rest of their life, I need them to learn how to navigate the world and heal together. There is something just so compelling about it to me.
heyyyy! I am also kinda fascinated by the idea that they survived in some form (although I’m primarily an ‘82 fan, I’m fascinated just generally by how different and hazy a concept death seems to be in the digital world throughout Tron canon, and thus very intrigued by lots of headcanons about characters who appeared to die in canon– because what if they didn’t, what if it was something else?)
Anyway, as for Clu and Flynn, I very much recommend @datamodel-of-disaster ’s fic “The Five Stages of Rectification” which (warning) does have some very mature and intense scenes, including both sex and violence, but also has the most compelling and believable approach to a redemption arc I’ve ever seen for… basically all the characters.
(Flynn and Clu survive, in pretty much the same form, no twists like sharing a body or being changed into anything dramatically different… they just have to find ways to change themselves and adapt to a changed world, and that’s plenty compelling in itself.)
