I actually do imagine it would taste like Sprite– or some other comparable beverage that is both 1. sugary and 2. refreshing

This is because clearly it fills the same role within the program’s life (“being supplied with energy”) that ingesting calories fills in a human life

and sugar is the most direct way for human bodies to turn physical matter into calories of energy

and, since it takes a visual form resembling liquid… we can imagine it probably does double duty as also serving whatever purpose in a program’s life is most comparable to a human’s need for hydration

so yeah. Sweet beverage, all the way

(though, there is also something to be said for the theory that a human’s perception of things within the system is, to some degree, affected by the human’s own viewpoints and preferences… so maybe it tastes like whatever you’d enjoy the most!)
