this is very different from my own feelings, personally i have trouble seeing the point of a soul if it doesn’t have any of the things that identify me as me

But it occurs to me that if you do find this idea comforting, then the concept of energy and matter as it exists in this world might basically count as a soul for you

Like. when you die and the material from your body goes on to become part of other lifeforms…. that’s just as much reincarnation as the reincarnation of any soul that doesn’t include your personality and memory

And maybe that is sorta comforting
