What do they put in christmas music that makes it so insanity inducing after a while

the same thing that happens to any song you have to hear that many times

playing the same songs over and over and over is a known torture (sorry, “enhanced interrogation”) technique used in Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib

just especially pervasive with Christmas songs, because there are so few of them and they just get played on loop all season

(and also, if you have any tendency to be annoyed by the whole cultural phenomenon of Christmas as it’s currently practiced/forced on everyone, the repetition is a Constant Reminder of it)

because this is the one time of year when neurotypicals start insisting that being stuck in obsessive routines is Normal

(and that anyone who complains about The Normal Obsessive Routines being forcibly inflicted on them 24/7 is a deviant who needs to be cured)
