there is a post going around that makes my head hurt because it is fucking with the concept of fictional Point Of View in too many ways

it’s a bunch of photos (from, I think, Tiktok?) of people reacting to specific scenarios

the caption describes the scenario in each one. The person in the picture is always the one reacting to it

but some of them call the person “me”

some call them “you”

and some use the term “POV” (as in the view should be from the point of view of whoever is reacting. Except it’s not, the person reacting is in the photo.)

Now… all of this, I understand, is typical for this genre of image.

However, on top of all this?

The things they are reacting to, apparently, are scenarios in some kind of… werewolf fiction

Which is, apparently, told in “x-reader” second person

And so they also describe a character referred to as “Y/N”

Which, as I understand it, typically means “you,” the reader’s viewpoint

But this character is not either the “you” or the “I” or the “POV” character described in the caption, or the person in the photo

It’s someone else that that person’s talking about

this is…. I’m sorry. this is too many different riffs on POV. Can’t handle. whenever I look at that post I feel like my brain is glitching.
