I very much recommend having a Wall of Trinkets.

Mine is currently small and messy and tucked into an obscure little corner– I’m still figuring out my living space.

But any Trinket Wall is better than none.

It means that if you receive some little gift from someone… Or if you find a random little object on the ground and get an inexplicable urge to keep it… Or if you’re browsing a local shop or a booth at a craft fair or something, and you like the seller and admire the things they make, and really want to buy one because the things are so cool and the artist is so cool and you wanna support them but it’s not something you actually need…

Well, it means that in all those beautiful little moments of connection with the world, your first thought doesn’t have to be “but what would I even do with this thing? where would I put it?”

Problem solved. You’d put it on the Wall of Trinkets.

Because it’s your shrine to all the little things that made you happy at some random moment. They don’t have to have a purpose. They’re just there, because you like them, and because this is a place where you’ll see them, and remember the moments when they came into your life.

And if a guest sees your Trinket Wall and asks about them, those little memories can become little stories shared with new friends, and little things learned about your life and what matters to you.

Connections are so important. And everything is connected. And sometimes, little trinkets are good for pinning your connections in place so you can make some sense of how they fit together.
