as I wind down and start to finally FINALLY fall asleep, little snippets of dreams start to appear

and the first one is

a fantasy adventure story where one party member is an anthropomorphic creature right out of some whimsical children’s book: a sweet little guy in a friar’s habit, with a head like a mole– silky black fur, tiny eyes, pink nose, the works

but it’s not a whole storyline about him. it’s just one moment of one scene

after a grueling battle, where this guy is holding up a small body and saying “I couldn’t save her”

and it dawns on the viewer that the creature he’s holding up is the mole. It wasn’t his head. You’ve never seen his actual face, it was hidden in the folds of his cloak the whole time

the thing you’ve mistaken for his head is just his little mole companion, riding piggyback on his shoulders, half cloaked in his collar. the whole time

nothing about why she’s been there, or what her deal was. just that he couldn’t save her

how the hell am i supposed to sleep now
