I feel like. if shipping ur ship genuinely requires some level of conspiracy style analysis for u to engage w it. this probably isn’t going to end well for u

btw as usual we are seeing ppl severely crashing out to the point their friends and family are worrying for them and christ but this happens literally every time. ppl owe it to themselves not to enter into these ‘do not doubt’ ship conspiracies for their own mental health, bc when the inevitable crash out takes place, the responsibility is ur own. u cannot blame some random showrunner or goddamn Netflix as the case may be. assess whether something is worth ur emotional investment and then assess the degree of emotion you are investing. and then! regulate!

like to an extent we are generally all here bc we care too much about media and w/e I do actually think that’s a fine hobby to have. but it does require us all to consider how much pain we are inviting by investing in specific outcomes for characters controlled entirely by someone else lol. it’s not good enough to just say you were ‘led on’ as you have an absolute breakdown, do better by urself and don’t let it reach that point my GOD

I do have conspiracy theory style analysis of why my ships are real

but I use it only for ships that never had any chance of being canon, between characters that the canon material has not even touched in decades

absolutely zero people currently involved in making canon have ever even thought about the option of these ships being canon. they may not even be aware the characters existed

…And even if the canon had explicitly made the ship noncanon– or tried to– my powers of headcanoning would still be out-thinking them in five dimensions

… arguably I do that already, in fact. I think my currently most elaborate Charlie Day conspiracy wall is an explanation of how to reconcile 1. Tron’s repurposing and apparent death in Legacy 2. Yori’s total absence in Legacy and 3. Ram’s death in the 1982 movie, with the indisputable fact that the three of them have spent the last several years in the Encom system living in the happiest little polycule/software suite ever
