Usually when someone says “I’ll die alone,” it means “i am alone, I’ll always be alone, nobody cares about me”

But when Captain Kirk says it in STV: The Final Frontier, he means the opposite

He uses it to mean “i do have people who care about me! And they care about me so much, and they’re so awesome and talented and great at everything they do, that the only way I could ever possibly die is during some moment when they’re not around to save me. Because otherwise they WOULD. they’d find a way. I can’t die when I’m not alone. because then I’m with my friends and they are the ABSOLUTE BEST and together we can survive anything”
