Remember when ship names were just like ~ ☆ sprite cranberry ☆~ and you just had to figure out what the fuck that meant for yourself

I remember when ship names were just the initials of the two characters with a slash between them. And the moderators of ASC and ASCEM had official lists for what initials to use, so that it would be easy for them putting your fic in the Trekiverse archive because they’d know your K/S was Kirk/Spock and not like, Kira/Sulu (Sulu was abbreviated Su, and Kira was distinguished from Kirk by the fic being categorized as DS9 instead of TOS, which was why including that info was also standardized) (yeah there was a time when fans were expected to know and do a looooot of things on their own, lol)
