Honestly im rly curious and i think the other poll’s range is a bit ridiculous:

What temperature would you rather spend all day doing errands in

100° F (37.7° C)

0° F (-17.7° C)

for me it depends VERY much on the humidity or the windchill

I have experienced 100F/37.7C in both Minneapolis and Los Angeles. In Minneapolis it felt like being boiled alive. Humidity means your sweat can’t do the evaporative cooling thing, you just soak in it like a marinating steak, and shade and even nighttime can only slightly affect how sweltering hot it is

In Los Angeles, 100F felt so nice that I actually had to be careful because my body didn’t tell me when I was getting hot enough to need a break. Allowing for that, bringing water, and covering up against sunburn? Definitely prefer 100 in LA.

Granted, the area of LA where I was (Silver Lake) has what I consider maybe the absolute perfect humidity, most of the time. I have also experienced 100F on an extremely dry day in New Mexico and that felt like being baked alive. Skin cracking in realtime. Thirsty constantly no matter how much water I drank. Hated it. There’s a spectrum both ways.

Meanwhile: 0F (-17.7C) in Minneapolis usually feels “chilly, put on medium winter wear and you’ll be fine outside for pretty much however long.” But in the past month there were at least a few days when the listed temperature was 0, but the “feels like” was around negative 17 Fahrenheit.

That’s windchill, and in that I would not go outside in ANY winterwear for longer than absolutely required to get to the nearest bus or building or whatever.
