people have gotta stop equating “empathy” with “kindness,” and “seeing someone else’s viewpoint” with “considering it valid”

it isn’t.

it can be the exact opposite

“why should i try to look at things from his perspective, why would he deserve empathy, he is so obviously evil and needs to be killed” …how are you gonna kill an enemy if you can’t even anticipate his next move
