The idea that programs die and are gone forever in the Tron universe is so stupid to me
Save them on a usb or something idk I don’t believe that
Yeah there’s a lot of possibilities– restoring from backup, recovering, refactoring
(I went off about a bunch of them in this post and then later I did a fic about Clu1 and Ram and the theory that Bits are involved in restoration from backup…)
(someday i AM gonna write about how some programs killed in the Games were actually derezzed into a cut-paste buffer and reused. There’s evidence of this both under Clu2 on Flynns Grid, and under the MCP)

Yay! Always awesome to have more rerezzing fics. Program life is its own whole thing and I love when fan theories lean hard into the ways it’s different from human life.
