I really don’t have a viewpoint about the J D Vance vs Catholic Church thing, besides that I want both of them to bite each other’s dicks off… but it is funny how I’ve seen pages and pages of argument where the only points brought up are “the Catholic Church has not always been anti-war though” and “you cannot say the Pope is wrong on any theological point, that is the whole basis of Catholicism” and not one single time have I seen the concept of “ex cathedra” get brought up yet

(yes, that link is to an extremely long post about TRON (1982) which only gradually eventually approaches the concept of ex cathedra via a headcanon about Kevin Flynn being Catholic… but that is because I would always, always, always rather think about Tron than real world religion.)
