@astercontrol i think i stole your pattern recognizer the other day (oops, apologies) because i had this absolute hare-brained thought that had me standing there at work like where the heck did that come from?
anyways, as many of y’all know, bruce boxleitner plays a spy character whose code name is “scarecrow” in the series scarecrow and mrs. king.
that nickname is, in fact, a wizard of oz reference.
there was a broadway play (still running, now a movie duology) that details how the character scarecrow (amongst others) came to be in the wizard of oz
that character started as fiyero, a (typically) brown-haired, fairly attractive guy with a bit of a carefree, playboy attitude
bruce started in theatre, i think even on broadway. (obviously years before wicked BUT!!)
so like
someone chase this man down and beg him to sing “dancing through life” please. i think that would seal the loop i’ve got going in my brain that has been bothering me for TWO WEEKS
