Hm, I don’t know the laws off the top of my head, but IRL I think there’s a number of years after which a missing person is considered deceased. And… yeah, sometimes someone who’s been missing long enough to be declared dead does end up coming back, and that does throw everything into chaos.

I imagine it would have been a media sensation… both in terms of Kevin Flynn being around again, and in terms of having to explain where he’d been all this time.

I’m not sure if Flynn himself would have wanted to make a big spectacle of revealing everything to the world– I mean, I’m sure that’s what he’d have wanted to do before all these experiences changed him. But maybe post-Zen Flynn would want to be quieter about it.

As for Sam and Alan, they’d probably still do whatever they actually ended up doing in the canon timeline. Unless Kevin convinced them otherwise. And really… who can ever predict Kevin.
