Gah
Anyone else relate to the experience of “complicated set of problems at work… which has been increasingly exacerbated, throughout my whole work shift, by coworkers interrupting and talking over me with their half-baked misunderstandings every time I try to explain it… to the point where it is now so fucking complicated I can’t even vent about it to anyone, because it would require about an hour of explaining, and if I get misunderstood one more time for even five seconds I’m going to have a breakdown”
Because I really feel like I need someone to relate to this, even though I can’t do shit about it or even talk about it at this point, lol
Part of it is just a couple of coworkers who love to tell me I’m doing things wrong. And even if I admit that I messed up on a particular thing, they don’t just leave it, they keep on telling me exactly what I should have done instead.
And this goes on for about 15 minutes even if I just meekly nod and agree the whole time. But it’ll be multiple times longer if I protest against any of it– and it’ll be full of things I want to protest against. Like, telling me I should have done X, where X is a thing that was outright impossible in that circumstance, or a thing they’ve previously yelled at me for doing, or a thing that I literally DID DO and it didn’t fucking help.
But if I say any of that, they’ll scold me for it, in ways that sound exactly as if they did not hear or understand a word of what I actually said. (And quite often they will definitely not hear half of my explanation because they’ll start the scolding before I’ve gotten to SAY half of it.)
And any further attempts to explain myself get treated as if I’m “panicking” or “overthinking” or being deliberately difficult.
UGGH. I am so glad my brain is capable of forgetting all about my day at work the moment I get home.
