i don’t wanna get too poetic about it. it’s likely cuz the redesign was recent and it’s pretty. plus flying the us flag is very much associated with fascist politics right now, especially after what we saw this winter.

but i haven’t seen anything close to this ratio anywhere i’ve lived outside of québec lol

yes! I very much like the new flag design and I like how many Minnesotans seem to feel more connection to the state than to the nation (after this past winter it is a VERY reasonable feeling)

Also i saw some article about supposed pushback against the new flag design being ugly or something, but honestly i don’t think I know anyone who dislikes it. The old one was awful. you couldn’t really draw it or make your own. There was a whole complicated picture on it and that’s not how flags should be (even if you wanted to look at whatever problematic stuff was happening in that picture). And the new one is just… a couple nice shades of blue and a star. I love it.
