being an author is so hard these days. if you want to promote a book and have anyone notice, you have to get someone to go online and say that your book is better than another (much beloved) book which sucks ass and is stupid. and they must say this in a way that is extremely divisive and offensive and will get half the internet calling each other racists or sexists or something, so for every 1 actual new fan your book gets this way, you will make 20 new enemies who will hate you forever. but this is what all your successful competitors are doing, and the only alternatives don’t work anymore and will get zero people to see your book at all.

apparently this happened again in the past few days. lovely. i certainly hope Tumblr knows better than to give this any attention.
