since they replaced spellcheckers with AI and started training it on everyone who puts anything in google docs, it gives you worse errors than your own brain could ever come up with

You can tell homegrown errors from AI spellchecker ones some of the time, but it’s because they’re like “the car needs it’s breaks fixed” instead of “The car’s needs have it is broken and fixed” or some word salad like that

personally I’m only peripherally aware of this. because ever since this began happening (and turning itself back on whenever I turn it off) in every word processing program I have access to, I pivoted hard to typing everything in raw html in software intended for coding. Where the only “spellcheck” it dares to throw at me is stuff like “failed to close tag on the italics.”
