kinda funny how the term “hail mary” tends to be used for a desperate situation where you’re almost certainly doomed, and all you can do is pray

because Hail Mary is a prayer, yeah, but it’s… not that kind of prayer, usually?

it’s like. an everyday sort of prayer you’d say as part of just …being a Catholic who prays regularly. Like The Lord’s Prayer/Our Father. At least that’s how my Catholic grandma taught it to me

(that’s what a rosary is for, btw. the beads represent Lord’s Prayers and Hail Marys and some other prayers that you gotta remember to say. you count beads to keep track of them)

if you want someone to pray to in times of absolute desperation, I guess you’d more likely go with St. Jude. (his status as patron saint of near-impossible causes is why he’s the mascot of that children’s cancer charity i think)

so.

….AU where Project Hail Mary was Project Hey Jude
