Sometimes I wonder what the autistic fandom people who are Special Interest For Life™ involved in their media of choice think of the ADHD fandom people who are Special Interest For… Ehm, Maybe A Couple Months in their fandom and go from hyper hyper hyper obsessed to indifferent in a comparatively really short time.

Like, is it a source of annoyance, or more like… Fondness for a seasonal phenomenon?

I’m a little bit of each so i dunno if I can speak for any of it. Diagnosed with both autism and ADHD, and my interest in things fluctuates a lot in intensity, but I don’t think I ever become totally indifferent to a fandom I once loved

…when people do, though, yeah I think “fondness for a seasonal phenomenon” is an apt description.

if it’s someone who used to share my current top fascination and now doesn’t, I get a little sad. But I do usually find it amusing to watch new interests come and go on my dash, it’s enrichment for me and keeps me from getting too bored
