You will never understand the mental torture of being 12 years old and having a debilitating crush on Hugo Weaving Elrond & having to lie to ur friends and say you like Legolas Orlando bloom like all the other girls so you don’t get fucking bullied

Now I’m 35 and I have a live sized cardboard Elrond who lives on my stairwell & I kiss him every time I go upstairs so anyway the moral of the story is never kill yourself

No hate on you because you’re braver than any US marine for that but I think we might have been having wildly different experiences

Hahahaha

(now imagine all this but in the 1990s when “I’m attracted to a fictional character (specifically the character, not the actor on his own)” was not an experience any “normal” people in meatspace ever talked about)

(I had no internet, only the friends I could find in person, no way of knowing that Spock was a super popular object of attraction. Normal, as far as I knew, was being attracted to Leonardo DiCaprio. I can only imagine if it’d been Shelob, lmao)

what do you meeeeaaan? the 90s everyone was lusting after buffy the vampire slayer

not among the people I knew, i guess. Or if they were, I never heard any of them say they had the hots for a fictional character from the show. Maybe one of the actors, idk.

(Though I admit I was very much not the most aware of what “most people” considered normal at that age. Only what they called me abnormal for.)
