madeline-the-bisexual-samurai:
take the test here:
no option for 0 i see. i mean makes sense, we’re on tumblr lol
tbh I forgor 0 but also do straight people follow me? I don’t think so… besides I already know 3 is gonna win. just look at your username even
Based on my experience (admittedly biased by who i follow but i do still believe in it somewhat)…. i think the most common answer, if Tumblr users actually answered honestly, would be something this test is genuinely not capable of.
i started to take the test and the first question was like “what gender are you attracted to more” …and my honest answer would be something like,
“I can enjoy being physically, sexually intimate with people regardless of what they look like or what words they use for themselves, as long as their personalities align with mine in certain ways. These ways are difficult to define because of the many factors in play, and the variety of people. So far it has only happened with AMAB people, but many of them have been trans. Which at first glance seems it might reflect a genital preference. But from my viewpoint it seems more relevant that most of these people were simply people I met through my former spouse, who also happened to be a polyamorous trans woman and mostly drawn to others like her; that is, I may have been treating these encounters the way i treated theater movies or concerts – i.e. as a social event that I participated in mostly because she liked it. Since splitting from her, I very very rarely seek out real-life sexual contact of any kind when left to my own devices, although it has happened a couple times in the context of roleplay fantasies. This leads me to suspect I’m mostly asexual, but capable of extremely strong sex drive and attraction in very, very rare cases, which thus far have been focused on fictional characters. The small pool of characters suggests to me that I do have a ‘type,’ and that in this context it is more-or-less heterosexual, but there have been too few examples to make any definitive ruling on that.”
and there’s really no option that exactly fits, here. Choosing the one that “fits best” would require me to choose definitions of gender, and attraction, that probably don’t align with what the test writer was thinking (and which I also can’t confidently even say about myself because my pool of experience is so small and also tainted by my people-pleasing motivations).
And most of the other people I’ve seen expressing any of this on Tumblr are … similar. In assorted ways. Largely ways that make it so the answer to every question is “oh damn that depends on a LOT of things.”
Idk.
