look i WISH more horror movies were just the directors thinly disguised fetish. instead we got all these horror movies that are just undisguised reflections of culturally hegemonic values and anxieties. like if we got some weird fetishes up in here it would probably add some variety thats all im saying.
I barely ever watch horror movies and the only one ive voluntarily watched in recent times was “Strange Behavior” because Dan Shor is cute as hell. So, guess my favorite horror movie is 100% thinly disguised fetish for Dan Shor. (On the level of my own appreciation of it, but I suspect also on the Doylist level. they did not need to have the only nude scene in the whole movie be Dan’s bare butt, but they damn well chose that path)
