One weird thing about me is how I talk like a rabid conspiracy theorist, but I have absolutely no actual interest in conspiracies
I’ll be like: “so! In Star Trek TNG, when Data created his android daughter Lal, he let her choose her own appearance. Lal is a palindrome name, there’s only a few others of those in Star Trek. One of them is Odo. If you change every letter in Lal to the one that comes three spaces after it in the alphabet, you get Odo. And guess who else got to choose his own appearance? Odo! Fun, right?”
And then you’ll be like, “okay but that’s probably not intentional or anything, they had a whole different explanation for how they chose the name Odo, there’s no reason for this to be some kinda conspiracy”
and then I’m like. “…well yeah of course. Why would I even bring it up if I thought it was on purpose? That would be pointless. Like saying someone rolled a natural 20 when they just set down the D20 with that side up. Who cares? Being a conspiracy would just make it boring and unexceptional. Being a random coincidence is what makes it worth talking about!”
and then you’re like. Wtf Aster
…but cmon. people making patterns is just typical people stuff. people do that all the damn time. It’s whatever. I get excited when the chaos of the universe makes patterns, okay
