just blocked another writer of a post that was getting reblogged by my mutuals and pissing me off.

i don’t think the writer is a bad person. Or that people reblogging their post are bad people. Again– yet again, Tumblr – I would much rather be able to block a single post and never see it again.

but there’s only so many times I can see a rant that

1. lists a bunch of (mostly valid!) complaints about present-day trends in how readers talk about books

2. calls all of those trends “illiteracy” (a word which, for the record, specifically means “not having learned to read”)

3. and then finishes up with the final complaint, about readers who say they “don’t care if a word is being used wrong, because language changes over time”

4. which the OP also calls “illiteracy.” this time repeated, at least twice.

5. I can resist hypocrisy ragebait. but NOT when I have to watch my friends keep reblogging it uncritically.
