it is important to have friends who arent on tumblr cause sometimes ill turn to my irl best friend and tell her about the most recent discourse i saw on here and before i even get halfway through the sentence she’s like “this sounds really unimportant and like only a few people care about it” and shes right. and for a moment i know peace.

i wish this was the case in any job I’ve had.

you’d think people who work in pharmacies would maybe skew a little more toward Tumblr’s level of awareness of how fucked the healthcare system is, and how it is not mostly the patients’ fault

But if I bring up any of that, I come across as the crazy terminally online one

(perhaps it’s because we’re customer service as well as everything else, and maybe that comes along with a tendency toward blaming the customers. idk)

Guess I’m realizing the importance of the “friends” part of this.

“Coworkers” isn’t enough.

Probably you need someone you know and like enough to interact with recreationally– thus someone who shares your most important values, presumably– who isn’t in all the same Internet bubbles as you.
