sirfrogsworth:

I ordered about 12 dollars worth of honey mustard sauce from Walmart and I just got an email asking me to do a customer survey about how that went.

They want to know if I would recommend Walmart to my friends and family.

If you need 12 dollars worth of Sweet Baby Ray’s No Sugar Honey Mustard because Amazon only sells it with two other sauces you don’t care for and Walmart is the only place you can find that sells it individually…

Yes… if you have no other choice, I recommend Walmart.

But that option wasn’t on the survey so I am just deleting the email.

Email surveys always feel to me like one among many grim signs of enshittified corporatocracy, in some way or another

I once got a survey email from…. the place where I’d just been required to do a pre-employment drug test. Like. How would anyone answer that.

“My experience went about as well as a pre-employment drug test can be expected to go. There is no possible situation where I would be in a position to recommend a choice of pre-employment drug testing facility to anyone. Nobody who has this experience even gets a choice. And the people who make that decision for the corporation sure as hell wouldn’t be asking me for advice. Even if they did, I do not think I could conscientiously claim to have enough experience with different options to recommend any one facility over another. Why the hell would you ask me this.”
